Who’s not a fan of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Keep the flavors going with these peanut butter and jelly wings.
Let’s face it, most of us have grown up on peanut butter and jelly. It was a lunch time favorite…well, that and grilled cheese. I sure do feel for those kids with peanut allergies.
As an adult, I don’t eat many peanut and jelly sandwiches, if ever. I don’t know why. Now, peanut butter and jelly wings are an entirely different story!
Can you believe that it took me several attempts to get this wing recipe right? The flavor in the first attempt was way too much like peanut butter. The second one was way too much like jelly. After giving up on the idea for a while, I was determined to finally get it right. I think I did it!
Give these wings a try and see what you think.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Wings
Two classic favorites come together with these tasty chicken wings.
GO GET THIS STUFF
- 4 Pounds Chicken Wings
- 1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
- 1/2 Cup Grape Jelly
- 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons Sriracha Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Vinegar
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Peanuts Optional
THEN DO THIS
-
Cut wings into sections of flats and drumettes, discarding the wing tips.
-
In a small saucepan, combine peanut butter, jelly, soy sauce, Sriracha sauce and vinegar. Heat over medium-low heat and whisk until jelly has dissolved and all ingredients are well blended.
-
Reduce or turn off heat, but keep warm.
If Using a Grill
-
Prepare a grill for 2-zone cooking (a cool side and a hot side). Aim for a medium-high heat of about 400°F (205°C).
-
Place wings directly over fire, occasionally turning until a slight char is evident.
-
Move wings to the cooler side of the grill and cover. Continue to cook until an instant-read meat thermometer registers an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). (About 30 minutes)
-
Remove from grill and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
-
Place wings in a large bowl and pour sauce over them. Toss until wings are well coated. Place on a serving platter and sprinkle with chopped peanuts, if using. Serve and enjoy.
If Using the Oven
-
Place oven rack in the center and heat to 375°F (190°C).
-
Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper, aluminum foil or apply a coating of cooking oil. Place wings on baking sheet. DO NOT CROWD!
-
Once oven has reached desired temperature, place wings in oven. Set a timer for 20 minutes.
-
When timer is done remove wings from oven and flip. Return to oven and set timer for another 10 minutes.
-
Check wing temperature with an instant-read meat thermometer. Wings should achieve a temperature of at least 165°F (75°C). If not there, flip and continue to cook an additional 5 minutes. Check temperature again. Repeat if necessary.
-
Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes.
-
Place wings in a large bowl and pour sauce over them. Toss until wings are well coated. Place on a serving platter and sprinkle with chopped peanuts, if using. Serve and enjoy.
Recipe Notes
For a spicier version, dust wings with ground cayenne pepper prior to cooking and to the sauce mixture.
