An easy and great tasting sauce that's perfect for drizzling on just about everything. Also great as a glaze for meat and seafood.
Go Get This Stuff
  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
Then Do This
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan
  2. Over a medium heat, bring to a slow boil
  3. Reduce heat to maintain a steady simmer
  4. Continue to cook for about a half an hour.
  5. Check for desired consistency and taste for flavor. Adjust the flavor if necessary and continue cooking until desired consistency is achieved while carefully watching. Occasionally stir. If you're new to balsamic reduction, reduce by half for starters.
  6. Allow to cool and place in an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry location or in the refrigerator.
Notes
Besides honey and brown sugar, other sweetening agents such as molasses or maple syrup also work well.
Don't forget herbs and spices. Experiment with garlic, rosemary, sage or oregano, etc.
