These Buffalo Balls combine the flavors of Buffalo with meatballs. That’s one spicy meatball!
Let’s face it, when it comes to serious snacking, it’s sure hard to beat a batch of spicy Buffalo wings. Yet, why should the great Buffalo flavor be limited only to a chicken wing? How about meatballs? Buffalo meatballs to be exact. I think these Buffalo Balls might just be a perfect alternative to Buffalo wings. They offer the same great flavor, are easier to make and aren’t near as messy to eat as wings.
Although this recipe uses ground turkey, feel free to substitute with ground chicken or beef. Either one works equally well.
While Buffalo Balls might be a good substitute for Buffalo wings, it’s hard to beat the real deal. Serve the meatballs along with Buffalo wings and everyone is happy.

- Buffalo Sauce (See recipe below)
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (again, use Frank's)
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1-1/2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, whipped egg, breadcrumbs, hot sauce, salt, cayenne pepper and garlic powder. Hand mix together just until evenly combined.
- Place bowl in freezer for 15 minutes. (The secret to forming meatballs)
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- Remove meat mixture from freezer. Hand form meatballs into about an inch and a half balls and place on baking sheet.
- Place meatballs in oven and cook for 20 minutes or until a thermometer reads 165°F (74°C).
- While meatballs are cooking, mix up the sauce. Melt butter in a medium saucepan using medium heat. Add remaining sauce ingredients and whisk until well blended. Reduce heat just enough to keep sauce warm.
- Remove meatballs from oven and toss into the saucepan of Buffalo sauce. Remove and place on a serving platter. Pour remaining sauce over the meatballs.
- Serve with blue cheese or ranch dressing and toothpicks.
